2026 Road Maintenance Program

Pardon our dust! On behalf of the Village of Long Grove, we would like to notify you that construction of roadway improvements at various locations throughout the Village is anticipated to commence by Monday, June 8, 2026, weather permitting.

In accordance with the Village Code, construction working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the week and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. We anticipate work shall be completed by mid-August, weather permitting.

The work consists generally of pavement removal and replacement, pavement surface removal and replacement, pavement patching, driveway apron removal and replacement, minor culvert removal and replacement, thermoplastic pavement marking installation, and landscape restoration as needed. The work planned for each roadway segment varies, so not all the work mentioned above will occur over the entire length of the project. Furthermore, please understand that due to the geographical size of this project, work may start and stop in any location as several of the operations are typically completed in phases. The streets scheduled to receive these improvements are as follows:

Street                                   From                                         To
Checker Road                    1711 Brookside Lane              1660 Checker Rd
Tall Oaks Drive                   IL Route 22                               Port Clinton Rd
Hampton Drive                   IL Route 22                               Port Clinton Rd

While the operations will likely create brief delays in traveling your street or entering/exiting driveways, there will be no full closures of the streets. Access to all homes and businesses will be maintained, but there will inevitably be delays from time to time. If driveway aprons are scheduled to be replaced, additional notification and instruction will be distributed on an as-needed basis.

Please be advised that all proposed construction is within the Village right-of-way. Where private improvements are in the parkway or Village right-of-way, (such as sprinkler systems, electronic invisible dog fence, landscape features, special decorative rocks, special vegetative plantings, etc.), we will attempt to work around them, but the Village will not repair or replace private improvements within the parkway or Village right-of-way that are damaged during construction operations.

As with any construction project, there will be inconveniences at times and we thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation. The Village and the Contractor are working together to minimize the disruption and inconvenience you will experience. Please travel carefully through the construction zone.

If you require special assistance or should have questions about the project, please feel free to contact Resident Engineer, Tim Lapp at (847) 772-0110 (tlapp [at] gha-engineers.com (tlapp[at]gha-engineers[dot]com)), myself at 312-806-8727, or you can contact the Village at (847) 634-9440.

Sincerely,
