Remembering and Celebrating Bob Borg

Long Grove has always been a community that greatly relies on volunteers. Bob Borg was one of those special residents. In addition to his service on the Park District Board and the Historical Society Board, Bob served for many years on the Conservancy and Scenic Corridor Commission for the Village. Generous with his time and handyman skills, the vintage bridge he helped construct between Village Hall and Archer School was named in his honor. Bob was a steward at Reed-Turner Woodland and was once honored as a “Teasel Master,” for his efforts and passion towards eradicating this invasive species in our Long Grove open spaces. Sadly, Bob passed away in 2015 and is greatly missed by all those in our town whom he has touched over the years. His volunteer spirit is an example for the generations to come.
