Long Grove Legacy Submissions

The Village of Long Grove is grateful to all individuals who volunteer their time and their talents to serve the community – to continually make it a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family. For this reason, the Long Grove Legacy webpage was created – to honor individuals who have contributed to the Village in a variety of ways. This could include serving on the Village Board, a commission, or a committee, being a member of a nonprofit organization that serves Long Grove, owning a Long Grove business, or other ways that the quality of life is improved through the contributions of these individuals.

If you know of someone who has served the Long Grove community, please answer the following questions, upload a photo, and provide a summary (350 words or less) of what this person has given to improve the Village, and/or how the Village has benefited (Summary Example provided at the bottom of the page).

Summary Example

Barbara (Reed) Turner contributed in so many ways to the Village of Long Grove. She donated her family’s nature preserve, which is now Reed Turner Woodland Preserve to the Village for generations of residents to enjoy. Barbara was a true conservationist, which fits well with Long Grove’s identity. Roles she served in include president of the Park District board, Village Trustee, a Woodland Steward, Founding Member of the Long Grove Historical Society and the Long Grove Kildeer Garden Club. She was also a District 96 school board member and co-authored the historical book, Long Grove Lore and Legend. Barbara’s positive influence on the Village continues to be felt to this day.
