Dear Village of Long Grove Resident:
On behalf of the Village of Long Grove, we would like to notify you that Chicagoland Paving Contractors, Inc. and their subcontractors are scheduled to begin work on Robert Parker Coffin Road Multi-Use Pathway from the Archer Parking lot to Illinois Route 83 on Monday, September 27, 2021, weather permitting, with the placement of the advanced construction notification signs. The construction is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.

The improvements will include an 8’ wide asphalt path on the south side of the road, from the Archer parking lot to Illinois Route 83. Pedestrian signals and crosswalks will be installed to allow users to cross Robert Parker Coffin Road, to the northwest corner of the intersection, and to cross Illinois Route 83, to the northeast corner of the intersection.

Construction will include selective tree and brush removal, earth excavation and grading of ditches, storm sewer installation, pedestrian crosswalk signals improvements, asphalt pathway paving, restoration of disturbed areas, and other associated improvements.

The construction work is scheduled to be completed November 24, 2021, weather permitting. Weekly project updates will be submitted to the Village for this project.

During the project, periodic lane closures will occur on Robert Parker Coffin Road. During these lane closures, vehicles will travel through the construction zone, under flagger operations, one lane at a time. At no time will Robert Parker Coffin Road be fully closed to traffic.

This project will cause inconvenience. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, in advance, in helping improve the Village of Long Grove.

Please note that neither the Village nor the contractor can be responsible for damage to private utilities that are in the public right-of-way, for example, pet fences or irrigation lines. If these utilities are damaged, it will be the homeowner’s responsibility to make repairs after the scheduled work is completed.

Transportation and mail will continue to run regular routes.
If you require special assistance or should have any questions concerning this work, please contact the Resident Engineer, Chris Ferretti, at 847-344-4484 or you can contact the Village Hall at 847-634-9440.
Sincerely,
Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc.
